First, I apologize for not sending out MMQ for the past 3 or 4 weeks. I am back on the wagon and know that you will find this message, one that will resinate with you.
We all go through major changes through out our lifetime. Some harder than others. This was sent out at my office, found by an agent who so graciously shared it. The suggestion to me is one that I will pass on to you. That is, to take a couple of minutes, read and digest this beautiful message.

Realtor.org publishes article on announcement from HUD Secretary of new and important changes! In efforts to further stabilize the economy, this change will allow buyers to access the, up to $8000 tax credit, funds immediately at the closing table.

Martin Matsumura of Select Lending made a insightful comment that ‘without a doubt, it will take some time for the lenders to digest this information and figure out how to underwrite the files, update their software systems and train their staff.’ However, the process is in motion and updates will be coming.
This means not only will First Time Home buyers have a $8000 tax incentive, low interest rates, plenty of inventory to choose from and excellent prices… That $8000 may just cover your 3.5% down payment on a FHA loan!

“If you want to stay ahead, play like your behind.” – old saying in sports
Why does this work? We all know how this looks in the sports world. Some teams may not play with such urgency at the start of the 1st quarter, 1st round, 1st inning but as the time gets closer to the wire, the motivation and desire may kick in and the intensity heightens. Hopefully bringing incredible results that amount to a win. But how much better off could they be if they play like that at the start. What kind of results would incur?
At work, isn’t it amazing what we can get done in such a short period of time when we are getting ready to leave for vacation or some time off? We have a goal. We have desire and motivation to work harder to get faster results. If we play like we are behind, we will stay ahead of others. Think about the mental and emotional peace that could come from putting yourself in that position.

As much as we all like to get our way, there are many circumstances that out of our control. When things are in our favor we don’t seem to complain, however when the tables turn and we start getting uncomfortable, whether on a corporate level or individual it is time to get reflective.
In the words of Gary Keller ” …it is time to roll up your sleeves and for everyone around you to do the same. It’s time to work both smarter and harder. It’s time to evaluate which resources and services must stay or go. It’s time to consider effectiveness and efficiency as tools of necessity. It’s time to see what bang you can get for the bucks you’ve got.”
Companies all over are ‘rolling up their sleeves’ right now. If they don’t take drastic action, their ’life’ could be short lived. What about us? Could our ‘life’, career, financial situation, be short lived also if we don’t take immediate action?
Instead of focusing on what we can not control, lets look for areas that we can change ourselves. Evaluate and upgrade. Can we be more efficient with our money? Be more cost effective. Eat out less, make lunch, make coffee at home? Search for those hidden fees.
Do we have to play by the corporate rules? Can we control our attitude about our work? Is our company making a physical move? How is our attitude and openness about doing what is best for the company.
Are there big changes happening in our personal life? Can we look at these as an opportunity to challenge ourselves and grow. There is a phrase… “to grow, let go.” Are there people in our life that harm more than help us?

Now is the time to get real. Get serious and look intently at our situations. Work with what we ourselves can control and be adaptable.
